Joanne Willoughby

Fine Art

Art is my passion. In my work I strive to convey the light across a meadow or marsh, or a sunrise or sunset turning the beach or marsh red or gold. I love painting the waves and surf. I love sketching portraits especially in Charcoal, a favorite medium along with pastel, oil, and watercolor. I love trying new mediums and am always learning new techniques. I also love combining mediums: watercolors or an oil wash under pastels; a monoprint of acrylic under pastels; cold wax medium mixed into my oils. I love taking workshops and classes with artists who have different techniques. I have taken many workshops and classes with nationally and internationally known artists. I hope you enjoy my art and find something you love. That is my primary goal. Making people happy through my art! I am a member of the Pastel Society of America, the American Impressionist Society, the American Women Artists group, and the local pastel Societies as well. My work can be found at the Gray Man Gallery in Pawleys Island SC, McClellanville Arts Council and Art Harbor Gallery in Maryville SC (as of  fall ‘26). My website is www.joannewilloughbyartwork.com

I now live in Camden SC as of 7/17/26
